Fall Closet Staples

Fall Closet Staples

Hi Friends,

It’s that time of year again. The time when I thoroughly evaluate my closet and add those essential items that will get me through another fall season in style. These are all items I can rotate in with the items I purchased last year; make sure to go back and read last years Fall closet post here.

Fall is a great time to invest in classics. Remember the importance of being focused, having a plan, and investing in quality over quantity. Pieces you can rotate for many seasons.

My philosophy is: think basics, not trends.

I teamed up with H. Audrey to capture some great fall items available in store now. H. Audrey has a perfectly curated collection of basics & those special splurge pieces…it’s important to support your local small business. Tell them I sent you for 20% off one item.

If you haven’t already read my closet edit post, read it now before shopping. I’m taking appointments so reach out if you need a fresh start to Fall. I would love to help!

Life Edit Fall Basics:

1. Black Blazer

My ride or die is a black blazer. Every woman should have one or two that they absolutely love. Pair with heels or sneakers for dressing up or down.

2. Leather Pants with custom Disco Cowgirl Sweatshirt

Pictured here are burgundy citizens of humanity leather pants with a custom disco cowgirl sweatshirt. I’m a big fan of anything leather and especially paired with a good sweatshirt. Speaking of good sweatshirts and tees, disco cowgirl by fashion it girl Mattie Smith is my new favorite. The designs accurately represent the Nashville girl and all our glory. A little bit cowgirl A little bit disco!

3. MUSTARD

I love a good silk tank, and my go-to for years has been the Cami NYC ones. This season I’m adding a mustard tank that will pair well with my chunky cardigans and blazers as pictured here. I’m resisting buying everything mustard, it’s definitely my color for Fall 2018.

4. Leopard skirts

Leopard is a classic, and everyone should have a few leopard basics in their closet. This year I’m loving all the options for leopard skirts. I chose this one by Pistola paired with a studded gray sweatshirt from The Great. I like pairing skirts down with sneakers and sweatshirts, this fits my lifestyle best. I go for items I can wear from day to night. As a mom, my night outs are slim, so I prefer to invest in pieces that will get a lot of wear day to day.

5. A chunky cream cardigan paired with wide leg jeans

This cream cardigan is dreamy; It’s soft, a little bit cropped in a perfectly balanced way, and adds something new to my collection of classic cardigans that fill my closet.  Let’s be honest, cardigans make or break an outfit. This season I’m also breaking out of my go-to slim fit jeans for a wide leg which looks great with my anine bing western booties.

6. Plaid Button Up

I’m a sucker for a plaid shirt and to be honest I’m over a lot of the popular ones. I wanted something that felt new. In came this oversized The Great gray plaid, enough said. HINT: style a plaid shirt the same way you would style a casual jacket. I love wearing mine unbuttoned with my favorite workout gear when running around town after an exercise class.
