August Challenge: 7-Day Eclipse Detox (with @peruvianchick)

August Challenge: 7-Day Eclipse Detox (with @peruvianchick)

Hey Guys! OK OK… How could I ever ask so much of you? Detoxing for a week, no wine? Because I’m doing it with you and I know you will love me when it’s all said and done!

I chose the dates of Friday August 18th through Thursday the 24th so the detox centered around the Eclipse on Monday the 21st. This way we are well into the detox the day of the actual Eclipse. Let’s start with what an Eclipse is. It’s an astronomical event that occurs when one object in the sky moves into the shadow of another. In this case it’s when the Moon’s shadow crosses the Earth’s surface. We are fortunate in Nashville to be in the direct path of the eclipse, 1:27 p.m CDT to be exact. Link here http://www.visitmusiccity.com/eclipse/eclipseFAQs for more information.

I believe a physical detox brings about emotional changes as well, and the eclipse is a perfect time to slow down and address these emotions. What better reminder of God than a big astrological event?  We rarely slow down long enough to gaze up at the stars, but when we do it’s a reminder of how big the universe is. It’s truly magical and only a Great God could create something of so much beauty. I’m taking this day to slow down and set good intentions and let go of any emotions that do not serve me. I’m also thanking God for my family, friends, and many blessings. So yes… I’m turning this into a Spiritual Event!

Back to the detox. I’m a big fan of week-long detoxes or re-sets, as I usually call them. I personally think we overuse the word toxins and that our bodies are well capable of cleaning house without much intervention. Unless you maintain a heathy diet at all times, we still could all benefit from a little clean up. Here is where I introduce my Dear friend Sara @PeruvianChick (yes she is 100% Peruvian). We are so lucky to have her share her knowledge and support us through our August Challenge: Eclipse Detox. I know You will love her as much as I do! She has a big heart, my kind of girl.

Let’s Do THIS. And yes I’ll be insta-storying about my experience with the detox daily. Just remember that Sara nor I are physicians so always consult your doctor before embarking on any lifestyle change. ~ Virginia

7-DAY ECLIPSE DETOX

Hi! It’s Sara (@PeruvianChick) and I am a big advocate of detoxing! Mindful detoxes allow us to reset mind and body for a fresh new beginning and what better time than doing it during the Eclipse?

The only way that toxins are eliminated from the body is through the natural processes of detoxification, which occurs through the skin by perspiration, through the colon by evacuation, through the kidneys by urination, and through the lungs by respiration. When the body has accumulated more toxins than it can handle, the body in its amazing natural healing process attempts a healing response and it must force the toxins out to prevent disease.

Unless you maintain a healthy diet at all times, the amount of toxins we consume via processed foods, sugar, alcohol, tobacco, etc, can be more than what our bodies are designed to handle. Therefore, we need to detoxify regularly.

SIGNS OF A TOXIC BODY

Fatigue/Lack of energy
Digestive problems/Irregularity
Cravings
Headaches
Allergies
Mental confusion/Poor concentration
Mood swings/Irritability
Overweight/Underweight
Restless sleep
Painful inflammation (joints, muscles)
Yeast infection
Strong desire for sugar, beer, breads
Skin disorders
High alcohol consumption
High caffeine consumption

THE BENEFITS OF DOING A DETOX

Increased energy
The digestive tract will rid itself of accumulated waste
Liver, kidneys and blood are purified and function more effectively
Mental clarity
Dependency to sugar, caffeine, alcohol are diminished

You have two options, you can do the detox with or without supplements. If you are interested in doing a more comprehensive detox, we suggest the M’lis Detoxification Program. This all-natural program was developed in 1985 by Dr. Linda Nelson and it consists of three all-natural supplements: Cleanse, Detox & Fiber.

**In addition to taking the supplements, days 3 through 5 we fast drinking only a lemonade based beverage made of lemon, maple syrup and water to keep your sugar level where it needs to be.

FOR THE 3-DAY FAST YOU WILL NEED

    • APPROXIMATELY 25 LEMONS PER PERSON
    • ALL NATURAL MAPLE SYRUP – GRADE B
    • DISTILLED WATER

Please contact me via email at sara@purpleturtleagency.com to place your order. Cost for supplements $99. Mention Code: LIFEEDIT to get 10% discount. Orders must be placed by Sunday, Aug 13.

Whether you decide to take the supplements or not, a detox is one of the most important factors in the promotion of overall health and disease prevention.
